Delaware Young Professionals From Around The State Hosting Second Annual Millennial Summit Conference
A diverse coalition of young professionals from organizations throughout the state has spent the past year planning the second annual Millennial Summit leadership and development conference. Led by Charlie Vincent of Spur Impact and Robert Herrera of the Mill, the planning committee is bringing dozens of national, regional, and local experts as well as business leaders to Delaware. Last year's event drew more than 350 attendees from seven states. This year, the planning committee hopes to inspire more than 500 professionals from across the region and country.
Are We Listening to Millennials?
On August 1, 2017, the Millennial Summit or the "MillSummit" was held at the Chase Center in downtown Wilmington. The description of the event revealed a collaborative networking forum geared toward younger professionals that many of us have defined as "Millennials" or "Generation Y" (those 80 million people born between 1982 and 1997 who now make up the largest population of American workers). The MillSummit, which was planned by, among others, representatives of the State of Delaware, Metropolitan Wilmington Urban League, New Castle County and City of Wilmington government, the Delaware Community Foundation, and both the Delaware Barristers Association and the Young Lawyers Section of the Delaware State Bar Association, boasted an attendance of 300 professionals under the age of 40 who listened to the Governor speak on issues directly affecting them in their work and home lives.

Wilmington, DE, July 10, 2017 – A diverse coalition of young professionals representing more than 60 different organizations throughout the state have been organizing the Millennial Summit, a new leadership and development conference. #MILLSUMMIT will be held on Tuesday, August 1 at the Chase Center on the Riverfront in Wilmington from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. More than 100 different organizations are expected to send attendees to learn from 70+ speakers about leadership, service, and how you can take charge, get involved, and make an impact in your career and community
